The ARC Introduction
What is the covenant that Jesus died to implement?
The New Covenant that Jesus Christ died to implement is a foundational promise in Christian theology. This covenant, prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, represents God’s ultimate plan for restoring humanity’s relationship with Him. Here’s a breakdown of what the New Covenant entails:
1.Forgiveness of Sins
The New Covenant promises complete forgiveness of sins through Jesus’ sacrifice. Under the Old Covenant, sins were temporarily covered through animal sacrifices. However, the New Covenant offers a once-and-for-all solution, where Jesus, the “Lamb of God,” provided the ultimate sacrifice to atone for humanity’s sins.
Scripture: Hebrews 10:12-18 ESV
But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, [13] waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. [14] For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. [15] And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, [16] “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” [17] then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” [18] Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Matthew 26:28 – “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
2. A Relationship with God Through Grace
Unlike the Old Covenant, which was based on adherence to the law, the New Covenant is grounded in grace. This grace, accessible through faith in Jesus, allows believers to receive God’s righteousness as a gift, not through their works, but by Jesus’ completed work on the cross. Believers are no longer bound by the Old Covenant’s rituals or regulations but are now led by the Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
3. God’s Law Written on Hearts
Under the New Covenant, God’s laws are no longer merely written on stone tablets but are inscribed on the hearts and minds of believers. This means that instead of external obedience to the law, believers are transformed inwardly by the Holy Spirit, who empowers them to live out God’s will naturally and willingly.
Scripture: Jeremiah 31:33.
Hebrews 8:10 – “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.”
John 14:23,26 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. [26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
4. Direct Access to God
Jesus serves as the mediator of the New Covenant, providing believers with direct access to God. No longer are priests needed to mediate between God and man as in the Old Covenant. Through Jesus, believers can come boldly before God, with Jesus interceding for them as the high priest of the New Covenant.
Scripture:Hebrews 4:16 KJV -Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
5.Eternal Life and Inheritance
The New Covenant promises eternal life and an inheritance with God. Those who accept Jesus as their Savior are given the hope of eternal life and become heirs with Christ to the kingdom of God. This inheritance is imperishable and secured by Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Scripture: John 3:16 KJV-For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.;
Romans 8:17 – “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
6.Fulfillment of the Old Covenant and the Prophecies
Jesus’ sacrifice fulfills the promises and prophecies given in the Old Testament. The New Covenant does not discard the Old but completes and perfects it, making the way for all people—Jews and Gentiles—to be reconciled to God.
Scripture: Matthew 5:17 – “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”
In essence, the New Covenant, established through Jesus’ sacrifice, replaces the Old Covenant based on the law with a covenant based on grace, forgiveness, and personal relationship with God. This covenant is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, allowing them to live in a restored and intimate relationship with God, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
How do we implement the covenant?
When the Bible instructs us to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15, KJV), it is commanding believers to spread the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. The “gospel” referenced here is the “good news” of what God has accomplished through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection to redeem humanity from sin and offer eternal life. Here is a breakdown of what the gospel entails, using King James Version scriptures to explain it:
1. The Reality of Sin and Need for Salvation
The gospel begins with the understanding that all people are sinners and in need of salvation. Sin separates humanity from God, and this separation carries eternal consequences. Without intervention, humanity is under judgment.
Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
2. God’s Love and the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ
God, in His love, provided a way for humanity to be reconciled to Him through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. The gospel centers on the message that Jesus came to take the punishment for our sins, dying on the cross and offering His life as the perfect sacrifice. This is the ultimate demonstration of God’s love for us.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
3. The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus
At the heart of the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ resurrection is essential to the gospel message because it proves His victory over sin and death and assures believers of their future resurrection.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4: “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
Romans 4:25: “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
4. Salvation Through Faith in Jesus
The gospel calls for a response of faith and repentance. By believing in Jesus Christ, repenting of sin, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior, individuals are forgiven and granted eternal life. This salvation is a free gift of grace, not earned by works but received by faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Acts 16:31: “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
5.The Promise of Eternal Life and New Life in Christ
The gospel includes the promise of eternal life and transformation. When someone believes in Christ, they are born again, become a new creation, and are given the Holy Spirit to empower them to live a godly life. They also receive the promise of eternal life with God.
John 5:24: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
6.The Great Commission to Share this Good News
Jesus gave His followers the Great Commission, instructing them to go into the world and share this good news so that others can also believe, be saved, and become disciples. This call to spread the gospel applies to all believers, urging them to share the message of hope, forgiveness, and eternal life found in Jesus.
Matthew 28:19-20: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Phase 1: Intercessory Prayer “The Power Grid”
INTERCESSORY PRAYER
Intercessory prayer is the lifeline of the ARC and any movement of God’s people, the very power grid that fuels divine purpose and ensures victory in spiritual battles. The Word of God assures us, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16, KJV), revealing that prayer is not just a ritual but a force that unleashes heaven’s power on earth. Without intercession, movements become powerless, for it is through Spirit-filled, Pentecostal prayer that believers partner with God to tear down strongholds, release captives, and bring about lasting transformation. Paul reminds us, “The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26, KJV), demonstrating that through the Holy Ghost, our prayers transcend human limitations and tap directly into the will of God. Intercessory prayer is not optional; it is the foundation upon which revival is birthed, the strategy that dismantles the enemy’s plans, and the key to calling heaven’s armies into action. If we desire to see the Kingdom of God established in our families, churches, and nations, we must engage in fervent intercession, for only through prayer can we truly declare, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, KJV).
1. Abraham Intercedes for Sodom and Gomorrah
Genesis 18:23-33 “And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?”
Example: Abraham pleads with God to spare the cities if righteous people are found there. He continues to intercede, reducing the number to ten, demonstrating persistent and heartfelt intercession.
Example of prayer of intercession for a city:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. We thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). You are the God of this city, the Creator of all things, and the Ruler of the heavens and the earth.
Lord, we lift up this city before You, for Your Word declares, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Psalm 127:1). We acknowledge that only You can bring true peace, righteousness, and revival to this land.
Father, we stand in our calling as intercessors, asking for Your mercy upon the people of this city. We repent on behalf of its leaders, its residents, and all who dwell here, for You said in Your Word, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Lord, heal this city and turn its heart back to You.
We declare over this city what You have spoken through Your prophet Isaiah: “And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations” (Isaiah 61:4). Let the broken areas of this city be restored by Your Spirit. Let the places of poverty, violence, and despair be transformed into places of peace, abundance, and righteousness in Jesus’ name.
We take authority in the name of Jesus over every spiritual stronghold and power of darkness operating in this city, for Your Word declares, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). We bind every spirit of division, violence, addiction, and immorality, and we loose Your Spirit of peace, holiness, and love over this land (Matthew 18:18).
Lord, raise up Your five-fold ministry gifts in this city—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—to equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Empower them to proclaim the Gospel with boldness and clarity, to speak truth in love, and to shepherd Your people into unity and spiritual maturity.
Father, we pray for the city leaders, as Your Word instructs us, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Grant them wisdom, integrity, and hearts that seek justice and righteousness.
We pray for the churches in this city, that they may be united in purpose and mission, for Your Son prayed, “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:21). Let revival flow through Your body and ignite a hunger for Your presence among all people.
Lord, we release Your blessings over this city, for You promised, “Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field” (Deuteronomy 28:3). May Your Spirit reign here, transforming lives, healing hearts, and drawing people unto Yourself.
We decree and declare that this city belongs to You, Lord Jesus, and that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in this city as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
2. Moses Intercedes for Israel
Exodus 32:11-14
“And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?”
Example: After Israel sins by worshiping the golden calf, Moses intercedes on their behalf, asking God to spare them and remember His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Example prayer of Intercession for a Nation:
Heavenly Father, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we come before You as Your servants, standing in the gap for this nation. We thank You that You are a covenant-keeping God, merciful and gracious, and abundant in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6). You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and all authority in heaven and earth belongs to You (Matthew 28:18).
Father, we declare Your sovereignty over this nation, for Your Word declares, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). This nation belongs to You, and we seek Your divine will and purposes to prevail.
Lord, we repent on behalf of this land and its people, asking for Your mercy and forgiveness for every sin and transgression committed against You. Your Word says, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). Father, we plead for Your cleansing blood to wash away the iniquities of this land. Heal the brokenness in our government, our communities, and our homes.
Raise up Your five-fold ministry gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—as instruments of revival in this nation. Your Word declares, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12). Let them proclaim Your truth with boldness and bring unity to Your Church, preparing it to be a beacon of hope in this nation.
Father, we pray for the leaders of this nation as You instructed in Your Word: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Grant them wisdom, integrity, and hearts that seek justice and righteousness. Remove every leader who opposes Your plans and raise up those who will honor You.
We take authority over every spiritual stronghold and demonic power seeking to oppress this nation. Your Word says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). In the name of Jesus, we bind the spirits of division, corruption, violence, idolatry, and immorality. We loose the Spirit of truth, peace, and holiness over this land (Matthew 18:18).
Lord, we declare over this nation what You spoke through Your prophet: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1). Let Your glory arise in this nation, dispelling darkness and bringing revival to every corner. Let this nation be a light to the world, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ with power and boldness.
We pray for the Church in this nation, that it would awaken from slumber and step into its full authority. Your Word says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let Your people arise in repentance, prayer, and intercession, standing as watchmen on the walls (Isaiah 62:6).
Father, we prophesy to the dry bones in this nation: “Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live” (Ezekiel 37:5). Let the Spirit of God breathe new life into this land. Let revival fire fall upon this nation, igniting hearts to seek You fervently.
We release Your blessings over this land as You promised: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance” (Psalm 33:12). Pour out Your Spirit upon all flesh, that sons and daughters may prophesy, old men dream dreams, and young men see visions (Joel 2:28).
Lord, we declare that this nation shall bow to the name of Jesus Christ, for Your Word says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).
Let Your Kingdom come, and let Your will be done in this nation as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray and believe. Amen.
3. Job’s Prayer for His Friends
Job 42:8-10
“And the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept.”
Example: Job prays for his friends who had wronged him, and God accepts Job’s intercession, restoring his fortunes.
Example Intercessory Prayer for a Friend:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I come before You on behalf of my friend, lifting them up in intercession, just as Job prayed for his friends and You turned their captivity (Job 42:10). Lord, I thank You that You are a God of mercy and restoration, and I stand in faith, believing for Your divine intervention in their life.
Father, I ask You to search their heart and forgive any sin, known or unknown, for Your Word declares, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, KJV). Wash them in the blood of Jesus, and let Your grace cover them.
Lord, I speak healing over their mind, body, and spirit, for Your Word declares, “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5, KJV). Let every sickness, every infirmity, and every affliction bow to the name of Jesus, and let them walk in complete restoration and strength.
I declare over their life the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Father, align their path with Your divine will. Open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and close every door that leads to harm or distraction.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You fill them afresh with Your power and presence. Let them experience the truth of Your Word in Zechariah 4:6: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Equip them to overcome every challenge and walk in victory.
Lord, if there are any spiritual strongholds or attacks against their life, I take authority in the name of Jesus and declare, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4, KJV). I bind every spirit of fear, confusion, and oppression, and I loose Your peace, clarity, and joy over their life (Matthew 18:18).
Father, bless them with Your favor, for Your Word says, “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee” (Numbers 6:24-25, KJV). Let Your presence go before them, be with them, and surround them on every side.
Finally, Lord, I pray for their spiritual growth and maturity. Raise them up as a vessel for Your glory, walking in the gifts and callings You have placed on their life, for Your Word declares, “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance” (Romans 11:29, KJV). Let them fulfill their destiny in You, shining as a light in this world.
I thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers and that Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). I stand in faith, believing that You will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20, KJV). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
4. Daniel’s Prayer for His People
Daniel 9:3-19
“O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.”
Example: Daniel intercedes for the sins of Israel, confessing their iniquities and pleading for God’s mercy and restoration of Jerusalem.
Example Intercessory Prayer for the Body of Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, humbling ourselves in prayer and supplication on behalf of the Body of Christ, just as Daniel interceded for his people. Your Word declares, “O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments” (Daniel 9:4, KJV). We acknowledge Your faithfulness and righteousness, even as we bring our petitions before You.
Lord, we confess the sins of the Church, for we have often strayed from Your commandments and Your perfect will. We declare, “We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments” (Daniel 9:5, KJV). Forgive us, Lord, for the divisions, complacency, and compromises that have weakened our witness in this world.
Father, we plead for Your mercy upon the Body of Christ. “O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee” (Daniel 9:8, KJV). But You, O God, are merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against You. Cleanse us with the blood of Jesus and restore us to righteousness.
Lord, we cry out for unity in the Church, as Jesus prayed, “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:21, KJV). Break down the walls of division among denominations, cultures, and traditions, and let us stand as one Body, proclaiming the Gospel with power and boldness.
Father, we pray that the five-fold ministry gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—would rise up in their full authority, equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12, KJV). Stir the hearts of Your leaders to walk in holiness, discernment, and the fear of the Lord, leading Your people in truth and righteousness.
We pray for revival in the Church, for Your Word declares, “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” (Psalm 85:6, KJV). Let Your Spirit be poured out upon all flesh, as You promised, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28, KJV). Fill Your Church with fresh fire and an unquenchable hunger for Your presence.
Lord, we stand against the forces of darkness that seek to weaken the Body of Christ. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12, KJV). We take authority in the name of Jesus, binding every spirit of deception, division, and compromise, and we loose Your Spirit of truth, unity, and holiness (Matthew 18:18, KJV).
Father, we pray for boldness and perseverance in the face of persecution, declaring, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word” (Acts 4:29, KJV). Strengthen the Church to stand firm in faith, regardless of trials, so that we may reflect the light of Christ in this dark world.
O Lord, hear our cry and let Your mercy flow upon Your people. We echo Daniel’s words, “O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies” (Daniel 9:18, KJV).
Father, let Your will be done in the Body of Christ as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10, KJV). Revive us, restore us, and use us to bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
This prayer draws upon Daniel’s intercession for his people and incorporates Pentecostal themes, focusing on unity, repentance, revival, and empowerment for the Body of Christ.
5. Jesus’ Prayer for His Disciples and Believers
Read John 17:9, 20-21
“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine… Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee.”
Example: Jesus intercedes for His disciples and future believers, praying for their unity, sanctification, and protection.
6. Paul’s Prayers for the Churches
Ephesians 1:16-18
“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.”
Example: Paul often intercedes for the spiritual growth, wisdom, and strength of the early churches, exemplifying New Testament intercessory prayer.
Example Intercessory Prayer for the Church:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up the Church—the Body of Christ—asking for Your grace, power, and wisdom to abound within it. As Paul prayed for the churches, so we intercede today, declaring Your Word over Your people.
Father, we give thanks for the Church, for Your Word says, “We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints” (Colossians 1:3-4, KJV). Thank You for the faith of the saints and the work of Your Spirit in their lives.
Lord, we pray, as Paul did, that the Church would grow in wisdom and spiritual understanding: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened” (Ephesians 1:17-18, KJV). Open the eyes of the Church to know Your will and walk in Your truth.
We ask that the Church be filled with the knowledge of Your will, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10, KJV). Strengthen Your people to live lives that bring You glory, bearing fruit in every season.
Father, we pray for the operation of the five-fold ministry within the Church—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Equip them to “perfect the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12-13, KJV). Let their ministries bring maturity, unity, and revival to Your people.
We pray for the Church to be strengthened with might by Your Spirit in the inner man, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge” (Ephesians 3:16-19, KJV). Let Your love be the foundation of all we do, binding us together in perfect unity.
Lord, let the Church walk in boldness and power, “That ye may walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work” (Colossians 1:10, KJV). Grant us courage to proclaim the Gospel without fear, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16, KJV).
We intercede for the Church to abound in love, as Paul prayed: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ” (Philippians 1:9-10, KJV). Let love be the distinguishing mark of Your people.
Father, strengthen the Church to endure trials and stand firm in faith: “That ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ephesians 3:19, KJV). Let us not be weary in well-doing, for Your Word promises that in due season, we shall reap if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).
Finally, we pray as Paul did, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21, KJV). May Your Church reflect Your glory and bring honor to Your name forever. Amen.
7. Stephen Prays for His Persecutors
Acts 7:60
“And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”
Example: As Stephen is being stoned, he intercedes for his persecutors, following the example of Christ’s prayer on the cross.
Example Prayer of Intercession for Persecutors
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You with humble hearts, interceding for those who persecute Your people. We follow the example of Stephen, who, filled with the Holy Ghost, cried out for mercy even as he was being stoned, saying, “Lord, lay not this sin to their charge” (Acts 7:60, KJV).
Father, we recognize that many who persecute Your Church do so in ignorance, as Paul once did, believing they are serving a righteous cause. Your Word says, “For they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34, KJV). We ask for Your mercy upon them, that their hearts may be softened and their eyes opened to the truth of Your love and salvation.
Lord, just as You met Saul on the road to Damascus and transformed him into the apostle Paul, we pray for a divine encounter with those who oppose Your Church. Let the scales fall from their eyes so they may see the light of the Gospel, as it is written, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins” (Acts 26:18, KJV).
We ask, O God, that You remove the spirit of hatred, violence, and deception from their lives. Your Word declares, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9, KJV). Father, let Your patience and mercy abound toward them, drawing them to repentance and salvation.
Holy Spirit, we pray that You would touch their hearts, convict them of sin, and reveal the love of Christ to them. As Your Word says, “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8, KJV). Let them come to know the peace and joy that can only be found in You.
Lord, we ask that You bless our persecutors, as You commanded: “Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you” (Luke 6:28, KJV). We release any bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness we may hold against them, and we choose to walk in love, for You have said, “Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful” (Luke 6:36, KJV).
Father, we pray for those who are trapped in systems of hate and oppression, manipulated by the enemy to fight against Your Kingdom. We declare Your Word over them: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12, KJV). We bind the works of the enemy in their lives and loose the Spirit of truth, grace, and freedom over them (Matthew 18:18, KJV).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You use the Church as a witness to our persecutors. Let our response of love, forgiveness, and prayer testify to the transforming power of Christ. Let it be as it was with Stephen, whose face shone like an angel (Acts 6:15), and let them see Jesus through us. Your Word promises, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35, KJV).
Lord, we trust You to work all things for good and for Your glory, even in the midst of persecution. We declare, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6, KJV). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
These examples show the breadth of intercessory prayer in the Bible—from individuals praying for nations, sinners, and friends to Jesus and Paul interceding for believers. They emphasize the importance of standing in the gap for others before God.
Comprehensive Plan for Apostolic-Prophetic Collaboration in the Church
I. Foundational Principles
Just as in the Early Church, Apostles and Prophets together establish a strong spiritual foundation. Apostles clarify doctrine, unify believers around core truths, and provide overarching vision and direction, as seen in the ministries of Peter (Acts 2; Acts 15), Paul (1 Corinthians; Acts 20), and James (Acts 15). Prophets offer timely, God-inspired insight, encourage faithfulness, and help identify spiritual strongholds, similar to Samuel (1 Samuel 10–11), Nathan (2 Samuel 7 & 12), Elijah (1 Kings 17–18), Isaiah (Isaiah 36–37), and Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29).
II. Schedule and Environment
- Weekly Apostolic-Prophetic Meeting (Sundays at 7:30 a.m.)
Once the building is acquired, an Apostle and the Prophets from the Beacon Prophet Network will convene each Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. This meeting time ensures prayerful preparation before the main service, uninterrupted focus on training, and strategic spiritual planning.
III. Goals of the Apostolic-Prophetic Meetings
- Spiritual Development & Planning:
- Establishing Vision: Drawing on apostolic leadership modeled by Peter and Paul, the Apostle will communicate a God-given vision for the 90-day revival program.
- Doctrinal Alignment: Following Paul’s example to the Corinthians, the Apostle ensures sound teaching and unity of purpose.
- Identifying Strongholds: With prophetic insight akin to Elijah’s confrontation of Baal worship, the Prophets will discern local spiritual barriers, such as unbelief, apathy, or hidden sin. Together, the team will pray, strategize, and develop spiritually targeted plans to dismantle these strongholds before the revival launch.
- Prophetic Discovery & Development:
- Uncovering Hidden Prophetic Voices: In a manner similar to how Nathan and Isaiah guided leaders toward God’s truth, the Beacon Prophet Network will identify emerging prophetic gifts within the community.
- Safe Environment for Growth: Like Jeremiah encouraging the exiles in Babylon, the team will offer a nurturing setting where new Prophets can mature in their gifting. They will receive mentoring, instruction, and correction, ensuring their future ministry at the 90-day revival aligns with biblical truth and God’s character.
- Structured Training Sessions: Drawing from the example of how Apostles and Prophets interacted in the early Church, short teaching segments each week will cover topics such as discernment, delivering prophecy responsibly, intercessory prayer, and understanding scriptural precedent for prophetic ministry.
- Revival Location Identification & Assignment:
- Determining the Revival Site: Prophetic insights—like Samuel guiding Saul or Isaiah directing Hezekiah—will inform the Apostle’s decision on where to hold the 90-day revival. The Apostle will provide the final approval, ensuring alignment with the overall vision.
- Selecting the Prophet for the Revival: From the group of trained and developed Prophets, one or more will be assigned specifically to the revival team. Just as Elijah confronted spiritual issues on behalf of Israel, this chosen Prophet will minister on-site, supporting the Apostle’s leadership and addressing spiritual conditions revealed during planning sessions.
IV. Implementation Steps
- Initial Assessment (Weeks 1–4):
- Apostolic guidance: The Apostle clarifies the revival’s purpose, sets doctrinal priorities, and outlines key spiritual targets.
- Prophetic insight: Prophets share initial impressions of local strongholds, potential revival sites, and highlight emerging prophetic individuals.
- Prophet Development (Ongoing):
- Weekly teaching segments led by the Apostle and mature Prophets from the Beacon network.
- Opportunities for emerging Prophets to share words of encouragement or correction privately, under supervision, to build confidence and accuracy.
- Stronghold Strategy (Weeks 5–8):
- Focused prayer and intercession sessions targeting identified strongholds.
- The Apostle finalizes a spiritual warfare strategy, inspired by biblical patterns (e.g., Ephesians 6:10–18), while Prophets confirm readiness through prayer and confirmation.
- Revival Site & Team Selection (Weeks 9–12):
- Confirm the revival location based on prophetic revelation and apostolic evaluation.
- Commission a designated Prophet to serve alongside the Apostle at the revival, ensuring unified teamwork and cohesive ministry.
V. Long-Term Vision
- Sustainability: Just as Paul encouraged the Ephesian elders to maintain vigilance and integrity (Acts 20), the Apostle and Prophets will continue to meet periodically after the 90-day revival. These gatherings ensure ongoing spiritual health, correction, and encouragement for the church.
- Replication and Expansion: As the Early Church spread the Gospel far and wide, this approach can be replicated in new communities, training local Prophets and overseeing Apostles to continually grow and strengthen the Body of Christ.
VI. Expected Outcomes
- Stronger Spiritual Foundation: The church benefits from balanced apostolic leadership and prophetic insight, resulting in theological soundness, unity, and clear direction.
- Effective Ministry: Pulling down spiritual strongholds and launching the 90-day revival will help facilitate genuine transformation in the community, much like the outpouring at Pentecost led by Peter.
- Empowered Prophetic Voices: By uncovering and developing Prophets in a healthy environment, the church ensures a legacy of inspired guidance, edification, and spiritual growth for years to come.
